27th Annual Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes in Jefferson, Texas

Jefferson’s most popular Christmas event put on by the Historic Jefferson Foundation. Step back in time to a wonderland Christmas gala.

Tour four historic homes decorated in the finest natural Christmas greenery. Meet docents in period dress. View the Hale-Walla House (1890), The Magnolias (1867), The Manse (1839) and Moseley Manor (1851).

Dates: December 3, 4 & 5 and December 10, 11 & 12.

Times: Thursdays from 3-8 pm; Fridays and Saturdays from 5-9 pm.

The wonder of Christmas comes alive November 27,2009 in Jefferson, Texas at a 5:00 pm ceremony in Lions City Park, 600 East Jefferson Street at Line Street. Jefferson is one of six cities on the unique Holiday Trail of Lights. Come join in as we flip the switch to light our beautiful, historic city.

What a special way for your family to start your Holiday season. Caroling, Victorian Saint Nicholas, Enchanted Forest and castle featuring dozens of decorated Christmas trees, Silent Night, candle-lighting…then flip the switch!

Spine-tingling Terror on the Bayou
For the ultimate Halloween experience, be sure to goblin’ up tickets to the 8th Annual Terror on the Bayou in Jefferson, Texas each Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, October 9-31, 2009. Two attractions – one location.
The legendary Runaway Fright Train will feature Freaky Fairy Tales – your childhood stories COME ALIVE with a scary twist! The scenes and actors along the track will keep you at the edge of your seat and give you a laugh now and then, too. G and PG-13 runs are oriented to specific age groups. The first run of each night is family-oriented for ages 2 to 92 for howling good fun, while the later runs are geared toward patrons that want the ultimate Halloween experience full of spine-tingling terror.
You’ll get the willies walking through the spooktacular Creepy Screamin’ Corn Maze, now more than an acre, which includes a walk through the Piney Woods, the Haunted Cemetery and culminates with the infamous 100 foot underground Tunnel of Doom. Once within the maze, you cannot escape the monsters, ghouls and dangers lurking in the foggy mist. Evil clowns, land of rats, spiders and snakes, skeletons and ghouls and a toxic wasteland. Something sinister is hiding there. You know something is going to reach out and touch you — you just don’t know when or where. Your nightmares become reality – not all monsters are make-believe!
